      Exactly! The Catholic Church and the AA has a lot in common. Both like to hand out old-fashioned, unnecessarily harsh, almost sadistic discipline. I got from the church in 1969 (I’m still a Christian, but I belong to a “more humane” denomination). AA and in 1999, and I am doing well without one either.
