    Sen. Ross votes for bill to combat prescription drug abuse

    The Senate unanimously passed legislation for strict oversight of prescription pain killers on Tuesday afternoon, according to State Sen. Richard Ross, R-Wrentham. The bill will reduce the excess supply of pills and require registration in the physician? State’s Prescription Monitoring Program to patients from preventable? Doctor shopping? for highly addictive medications as OxyContin and Vicodin examined.

    OxyContin abuse on the rise in El Paso

    Earlier this week, a South Central El Paso pharmacy was robbed. But they were not after money. The would-be robber-Demanded OxyContin. Silvia Medina, a nurse at Allivane, is not surprised. She works with addicts who says she wants to go to any length to get their hands on their next fix. She also tells us more patients are working professionals who have become addicted to the prescription painkiller. . .
