Billie Holiday – Billie’s Blues (1936)
Billie Holiday (born Eleanora Fagan; April 7, 1915 July 17, 1959) was an American jazz singer and songwriter. Nicknamed Lady Day by her sometime collaborator Lester Young, Holiday was a seminal influence on jazz and pop singing. Her vocal style — strongly inspired by instrumentalists — pioneered a new way of manipulating wording and tempo, and also popularized a more personal and intimate approach to singing. Critic John Bush wrote that she “changed the art of American pop vocals forever.” She co-wrote only a few songs, but several of them have become jazz standards ————————————————— Rowland Bernard “Bunny” Berigan (November 2, 1908 – June 2, 1942) was an American jazz trumpeter who rose to fame during the Swing Era, but whose virtuosity and influence were shortened by a losing battle with alcoholism that ended in his early death. I do not know that this is the “Bunny Berigan” Orchestra. I do not think it an orchestra in 1936. He was a sideman trumpeter in high demand, however. I rather think that a “session” is getting together musicians from various bands.

She died on my birthday (17th July) and if you switch around the 5 and 9 on the year she died, it would be 1995, the year I was born. IDK, but I think it might be a sign!
